British Morgan Horse Society

Founded 1975

The Morgan is one of the earliest horse breeds developed in the United States. Tracing back to the stallion Figure, later named Justin Morgan after his best-known owner, the breed excels in many disciplines, and is known for its versatility. The Morgan horse is compact and refined in build, with strong limbs, an expressive face, large eyes, well-defined withers, laid back shoulders and a well arched neck and a clean cut head. There is officially one Breed Standard for Morgan type regardless of the discipline or bloodline of the individual horse.

Pleasure Horse Weekend

With the end of the show season in sight our next event is a Pleasure Horse Weekend at Monnington for our members.  This is a weekend to get away and relax with your horses and fellow Morgan owners.  There will be a Thanksgiving Ride and Drive up Monnington Walk on the Saturday morning after which Members will have the use of the arenas at Monnington with people on hand to help and advise if needed.  Saturday evening will be ‘A Night of Karaoke’ in the Butt House with everyone bringing a bottle and a plate of food. On Sunday there will be a  guided Pleasure Ride of approx. 8 miles through the stunning Herefordshire countryside.  Children are welcome and our aim is for this to be a relaxed, family orientated fun weekend. This is a FREE event, with the only cost being for stabling and lunches if required. It would be great to see you there

Nuno Oliveira is a Portuguese breeder & trainer that's been travelling to UK over past 4 years thanks to Corinne Farinha from Elite Equestrian Events.
Nuno combines his knowledge of classical training with the experience he has gained by training horses since very young age.
Nuno has an expanding portfolio of clients here in UK covering a wide range of breeds, disciplines & levels.
Nuno is comprehensive in his approach & every lesson is unique based on the individual horse & rider combination. Nuno doesn't just teach techniques from the ground he rides each horse to feel the horse & sees which techniques benefit each horse before putting the rider back on to train his findings (with owners consent) Nuno explains his advice and gives you techniques to take away and work on at home for an all round benefit of horse and rider.
Nuno is at Monnington Court on Saturday 11th November 2017 and is available for private 1-2-1 lessons priced @ £60 per hr.
